Structured literacy intervention for struggling readers — Evaluation, Instruction, and Advocacy that makes progress predictable.
The 2030 Vision
DeCoDeD Reading is laying the brick-and-mortar foundation for a permanent home for literacy in our community. We are currently in the Multi-Year Planning Phase to transition our clinical practice into a formal, non-profit school by 2030.
-
Parents: Join our "Founding Class" Interest List for future enrollment updates.
-
Leaders: We are seeking long-term board members to help us guide this decade of growth.

PROJECT BLUEPRINT: (NAME OF SCHOOL TBD)
Founder: LaShawn Jimenez, CALT Location: Joplin Missouri
1. The Mission
To ensure every child in Missouri can read, learn, and succeed through evidence-based, specialized instruction. We use the Science of Reading to "re-wire" the learning process for students who have fallen behind in traditional settings.
2. The Business Model (The "Missouri Advantage")
We are leveraging Missouri’s "Education Freedom" and the MOScholars program to ensure our school is financially sustainable and accessible to all families:
-
Funding: Utilizing state-authorized tax-credit scholarships ($6,375+ per student) via Educational Assistance Organizations (EAOs).
-
Legal: Operating as a registered Non-Public School (NPS) with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
-
Governance: Incorporating as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit to unlock federal grants and private donations.
3. Current Phase: The Pilot (2026)
-
Current State: Successful private clinical practice (Phase 1 & 2A).
-
Active Proof of Concept: The Reading Lab (Phase 2B)—a small-group "micro-school" model currently serving local families.
-
The Goal: Transitioning to a permanent facility with a full-time staff by 2031
4. The "Expertise Gap" (Why I Need a Mentor)
I am a clinical expert and a Master Educator. To move from a "Practice" to a "School," I am seeking guidance from a Business Mentor in these specific areas:
-
Scaling Operations: Moving from 1:1 intervention to a classroom-based model.
-
Financial Strategy: Navigating SBA 504 loans and capital campaigns for a building purchase.
-
Board Development: Recruiting the first three directors required for 501(c)(3) status.
5. Contact & Partnership
I have the curriculum, the credentials, and a growing waitlist of families. I am looking for a "Business Brain" partner to help me build the foundation.
